Physalis peruviana (Chinese lantern)

Chinese lanterns, also called goldenberry or groundcherry are perennials that conveniently wrap their fruits in a papery wrapping to protect them from the elements. That calyx is toxic and should not be eaten. The leaf juice has been used in the treatment of worms.
