Humulus lupulus (Hops)

Humulus lupulus is a perennial climber often eaten in salad and as a flavouring and preservative agent in beers. Hops have a long and proven history of herbal use mostly for its calming effects on the body and the mind. Due to its strong bitterness, it strengthens and stimulates digestion. When given to nursing mothers, hops increases the flow of milk.
