Cornus cericea / stolonifera (Red osier Dogwood)

Red osier dogwood was widely employed by several native North American tribes who valued its astringent and tonic bark and used it to treat diarrhea, fevers, and skin problems. The decoction of the bark can be used externally as a wash for sore eyes, to treat skin complaints such as poison ivy rash, and much more.
