Agastache foeniculum (Anise hyssop)

Leaf has a strong anise flavor for teas. It calms upset stomach and eases gas. Anise hyssop is in the same family as hyssop (Hyssopus officinalis), the mint family Lamiaceae, but they are not closely related. Genus name comes from the Greek words agan meaning very much and stachys meaning an ear of wheat in reference to the flower spikes. Agastache foeniculums roots are beneficial in chest ailments and the leaves can be used as a culinary seasoning or in a tea to uplift spirits.
