Innisfree is also an internationally registered Botanic Garden and a herbal farm near Courtenay on Vancouver Island.  We host an extensive collection of medicinal plants and a dispensary making herbal teas and other preparations.  We grow a garden of culinary herbs, medicinal plants, vegetables and berries.

The Green Dream Café, the Garden Shop, and the Botanic Garden at Innisfree are open on Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm, June to September.  The Green Dream Café was reviewed in Vancouver Island Beyond Victoria Magazine (July 20, 2016)  "Innisfree offers a tranquil oasis for an al fresco lunch".

Born and raised in Paris, did undergraduate studies in Caen in Normandie, moved to Montréal to teach plant physiology to students almost my age, did graduate studies in Raleigh (North Carolina) and worked 30 years in research for the Canadian Department of Agriculture.   From a soil biologist, expert at chemical control of nematodes, I turned genetic engineer, and finished as head of a department of  Molecular Biology.   Dr. Vrain retired 16 years ago, but I resuscitated him 6 years ago, with a mission to educate about the chemical contamination of food and feed from sprayed GMO crops and cereals.   I have lectured extensively across Canada and the USA on this topic.   I am slowly retiring from this campaign to give more energy to create the Botanic Garden and the vision of Innisfree.   On the side I enjoy growing food and teaching about life and how we are all related.   And I cook.
