Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet gum)

The resin of sweet gum, which would come out as yellow thus the name Liquidambar �fluid amber� in Latin, is chewed in the treatment of sore throats, coughs, and asthma. Externally it is applied to sores, wounds, and scabies.
